After 10 Weeks ... We've Finally Left the Hospital!!

Here is a quick update for those who haven't heard. We were discharged from the hospital yesterday. It was quite the day for me. I can't quite explain what it felt like to actually get in the car with Alex and drive away from the hospital. It was glorious! Since I reached 34 weeks and have been relatively stable, the doctors saw no need to keep me there any longer. So, I'm still on bedrest, but it is less strict. I'm able to get up and walk around a little now. After tomorrow, I will no longer be on any medication to stop contractions and if I were to go into labor they would do nothing to prevent it. So, we'll see what happens!

Funny thing is, we weren't able to "go home" to our house because our renters are moving in tomorrow. Luckily, some really nice people who know Alex's dad are letting us stay in their condo while they are out of town for the next few weeks. The condo is close to the hospital and is working out great. It is nice to be here together and have a little privacy and somewhat of a sense of normal life before Alex takes off for Boston in a few weeks ... or before I deliver ... whichever comes first!

2 1/2 months ago, we really thought we would be having babies any time. We feel like we've witnessed a miracle. I'm really grateful to everyone for your support of us during this time. I also feel so forunate to have good health care. That is a real blessing.

Here is a picture of me and Alex sitting in our hospital room just before we left yesterday.

Today's Ultrasound

Just a quick post to tell that I just had an ultrasound today and found out the current estimated weight for both of the babies. One is 4 lbs. 13 oz. and the other is 5 lbs. even. Wahoo! They are really growing. It was great to find out about their progress over the last few weeks. From what I feel going on inside, it sure seems like they're growing! :) We're excited to meet them.

33 Weeks Down!

Well, we made it to our 33 week mark today. My doctor said again this morning, "I can't believe you're still here." We feel so blessed to have made it so far. Two months ago, we really thought we were going to be having our babies any day. We couldn't be more thrilled to be at the point we're at now. Thanks again to everyone for your thoughts, phone calls, visits, and prayers. I'm pretty hopeful that we'll at least make it to 34 weeks. Now, we wonder when exactly they will come. Will I have to be induced at some point??? That would make me chuckle.

Here are some pictures of me at my 33 week mark and Alex hanging out on his "bed" in our hospital room.

My First Post

This is my first post on our new blog. Hooray! I finally decided to join the blogging world with the arrival of our twins imminent. As I'm sure everyone who will ever look at this blog already knows, Alex and I have lived at the hospital for over 2 months now with me on bed rest. I have successfully made it to 32 weeks in my pregnancy and the babies are looking great. They have been growing and growing inside of me. Just in the past week or so they have reached a size such that when they move around a lot now it hurts! I think that's a good sign.

Anyway, hopefully I can keep this blog well updated. I'm looking forward to posting pictures of our new babes on here in just a short little while. Our lives are about to change forever ... from two to four in one instant! We are so excited to meet them!
